Yes! its time we did another event. And its time for a competition at Vancouver's newest and grarliest park. The 'pool' at Kensington. This bowl is based on the concept of skating empty pools made popular in the late 70's in California. Its got really tight transitions, concrete coping and a lot of vert!  Therefor this event should differ from any other bowl contests we've seen around these parts.  We've got all the right sponsors helping us out with this and look forward to a crazy day of skating.

Categories: Bad (beginner) Good (advanced) Masters (advanced age!)
Cash prizes for the "Good" guys
Helmet mandatory for those under 18 and highly recommended for everybody else
Entrance fee: $10

Quilchena Skatepark (Register @  Kerrisdale Community Centre)

2 Day Camps. Sat/Sun 9am - 11am

Beginner : July 9/10, 23/24, 30/31  Aug 13/14, 20/21, 27/28

Advanced: July 16/17  Aug 6/7

5 Day Camps. Mon thru Fri 9am - 11am

Beginner: July 11-15, 18-22   Aug 1-5, 8-12, 22-26 

Advanced: July 25-29  Aug 15-19

 

EASTSIDE :

Kensington Skatepark (Register @ Kensington Community Centre)

2 Day Camps. Sat/Sun 9:30am - 11am

Goin' Up the Country!

One year ago we lost our good friend Josh Evin to a tragic accident in his beloved Kootenays. This Saturday June 11th the town of Slocan City is hosting the Backyard Bowl Bash in honor of our fallen brother. If you can get up there, you should!  BLVD is bringing a up a big crew from the city and we're super stoked for this!!

2011 Lessons have begun !!

 SKAMP! YOUTH SKATEBOARD LESSONS 2011

Our SKAMP! lessons for 2011 are underway for Spring.  

We're running 2 day sessions (sat/sun 9-11am) at Quilchena Skatepark (map) near 33rd/Arbutus every weekend until summer.

You can register for these through the Kerrisdale Community Centre  604.257.8100

We will be offering our Summer Programs at various parks, however for right now Quilchena is our home base for Spring Lessons Smile

I'm sure by now we've made a name for ourselves when it comes to original and fun events.  There's a lot planned for 2011 and we're starting things off right with a Cruiser Jam on March 12 @ Queensborough!  KROOKED x BLVD are joining forces to bring you a fun filled day of softie wheeled goodness.
