Back from the Berg..

Weather was a little rough, but overall the SF excursion was a success. Here's a few pics of what went down..

The day before the event.. a lot of people showed up to check out the spot and plan their attack. Among those was local phenom Ryan Decenzo. Murmers of "meh, it ain't that big" mixed with murmers of " holy #$&%, that's huge" were overheard. Super stoked, my buddy Jay and I bombed an epic SF hill back to our hotel for beer and....well... more beer!

Next day we rolled in at about 10am and there was already a thick crowd forming..

Time to pick a good "short guy" viewing spot. But not before fanning out with a few pics

After that I found myself a perfect spot to watch right against the railing at the landing. That was until a couple dudes like totally got in my way! Pffffff, come on TnT and Carrol!

Just kidding, my view was great. Others were not so lucky, but managed to improvise..

Awww...

Anyway, it was time for Master of Ceremonies Jake Phelps to open things up..

The contest was insane-o!  So many dudes and a few girls throwing themselves down it. I'm sure by now, you all know what went down. Its what almost went down that was equally amazing. Switch tre? Double Flip? Inward Heel? Ollie-late shuv? Bs 360 nollie? 360 kickflip ollie?  And honorable mention to Ryan Decenzo for a first try hardflip only to have his board explode and a fs 360 ollie to back foot slip-splitzville!  (I'm sure he would've had a few tricks had his board not busted..)

Once it was all said and done, I sat and watched Beibs, Mike Mo and Chris Roberts play some b-ball while I waited for the feeling to come back to my feet. Standing in the same spot for 4 hrs is tough!  Then another epic hill bomb back for some beer, hockey and....more beer!

If you ever get the chance to skate SF, you won't be dissapointed. Its a really rad place!
